I debated on whether I should post this or not, because it's so simple. However, the whole reason I am doing this blog is to share our family favorites and also to have them preserved for myself. So here it is. Let me know how you like it. We LOVE these for lunch. It's kind of our Saturday/Sunday lunch when we are both home.
Tuna Cheesewiches
Bruce G.
1 can tuna, drained
1 1/2 - 2 Tbsp mayo
Sliced cheese (pepper-jack and cheddar are our favorites)
4 slices bread
Set oven temp to broil. In a small bowl mix tuna and mayo. Evenly distribute tuna mixture on top of bread slices. Top with cheese. Place on a broiler pan or cookie sheet and broil until cheese is melted and starting to bubble - don't go far, they are done pretty quick .
Lindsay, that is so funny! That is our after church lunch (well it was until last week when our wards split and we now have church at 1:00) every week! We grill it like a grilled cheese, but same idea...Great minds think alike! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis may seem simple to you, but I think it's genius! I wonder if the cheese will help my kids to eat tuna...I'm definitely going to try!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know if they do like it. I still haven't got my kids to love it, but I stopped trying. I read somewhere kids have to try something new or that they don't like up to 9 times before they start to like it (not that they will like everything). But that gave me hope to keep trying. :)
DeleteI know I comment a lot...sorry! But, we tried this recipe for my 3 younger kids the other day. I had to change the recipe a little, though but mainly because we don't buy mayo or miracle whip. We are not fans of it. Anyway, I put a little bit of mustard just to moisten the tuna and then I added some feta cheese into the mixture then continued with your recipe. My kids loved it and ate every last bite of it. Thanks for this idea!!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really yummy, Patti! I'm glad they liked it! I'll have to try that too. Thanks for all your comments!
